I’m Saffron Morriz

Your Nova Scotia Photographer

Over the past 5 years, I’ve learned that the best wedding photos aren’t the perfectly posed ones—they’re the real moments that capture you as your true self. The ones you might not even realize are happening. It’s so important to me to document your day as it unfolds naturally, without any stress or chaos. I’m not just another wedding vendor—I’m here to support you, make sure you feel at ease, and create the space for those genuine moments to happen.

My Life Growing Up

I’m originally from a small town called Bingley in the UK, but my family and I moved to Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, when I was just four. Although I don’t have the accent anymore (my friends say it comes back when I talk to my parents!), Tatamagouche will always be the hometown where I grew up. I mostly lived as an only child, with my sister being 12 years older than me. She didn’t quite adjust to life in Canada, so she moved back to England when I was young, leaving me to grow up in a quieter home.

I was homeschooled for most of my childhood and spent a lot of time on the farm next door, where I helped bale hay, milk cows, and do all the other farm chores. Those years really shaped who I am today. Horses were also a big part of my life—I had a Thoroughbred mare and competed in Hunter Jumper events. If you’re a fan of animals, especially horses, I’d love to incorporate them into a shoot!

Traveling was another big part of my childhood, as my family and I explored different parts of Europe. Now, I make it a point to visit my family and grandma in the UK whenever I can—it’s always great to reconnect with my roots.

How I Got In To Photography

I’ve been passionate about photography since I was 12. My mom’s camera was always within reach, and I spent hours experimenting with nature, wildlife, and landscapes. It wasn’t until high school when I truly fell in love with photography. In grade 11, I entered the Skills Nova Scotia Competition and placed 1st in the province. That led to competing nationally, where I placed 4th, and the next year, I placed 2nd nationally. Despite being told by teachers and counselors that photography was just a hobby, I stuck with my passion and pursued it as a career.

After graduating in 2019, I moved to Truro, Nova Scotia, to follow my dream. While searching for a job to pay the bills, a friend asked me to shoot their engagement photos. I posted the images online, offering low-cost shoots, and quickly found myself with a growing list of clients. I also received job offers but turned them down after realizing photography was truly something I wanted to pursue. I trusted my instincts, took the leap, and fully committed to photography. That’s where my journey began.
